The Graph to the right shows a Mini Cooper crash. Using the Logger Pro software my group was able to track the passenger during the car crash. Including the position, velocity, and acceleration of the passenger. This graph shows the velocity of the passenger before the car crash. In the Velocity vs Time graph is shows the position with dots, and velocity with triangles. You can notice that the slope is constant and then begins to change before the crash.
The Graph to the left shows the car during the crash. In my group we solved for the passengers velocity by taking the derivative of the equation (ax^2)+bx+c. Then to find the acceleration we took the derivative of the new velocity equation. When solving for velocity my group got -.5617 m/s, and solving for acceleration we got 1.153 m/s^2.
I personally would not own a mini cooper. I like a medium sixed car when I drive. I don't like not being able to see over other cars, it bothers me. I feel unsafe in small cars. When getting into a crash the larger car will always win. I am quite content with my current Xterra.
